Two Free Template Downloads

We've had so many inquiries about some of the details we created for Tyler's First Birthday Party this summer that we decided to share the love and post two free template downloads that could work for any type of young kid party!

The first template is a set of labels that fit perfectly on these cute spiral cups from Party City. Download free the template, print onto full sheet label paper and then cut out by hand or punch with a 2" circle punch. I then used a regular hole punch to cut one hole in the middle for the straw.

The next set of templates is for the darling doggy/to go bags. I used brown paper lunch bags from the grocery store and then added these labels and displayed them on the table so guests could take goodies home with them.

These labels can be cut by hand or with a 2.5" circle cut. Again, print onto full sheet label paper and then cut them out and stick.

My Sweet Valentines

Happy Monday! With January nearing an end and Valentine's Day right around the corner, I've been putting together some little treats to spoil my two favorite Valentine dates! Michael's is a dream for finding little trinkets and I came across these adorable plastic Valentine hearts that you can fill with candy, notes or toys. I decided to fill them up and rearrange our escort card display to create a fun display for my loves. Thanks to Rich Lander of Chard Photography for the awesome pictures!

Beyond Brilliant

This is just beyond brilliant and I had to share. I found this clever idea via Pinterest (love) from the Team Imhoff blog.

~ Take a large office clip and push the metal pieces inward until they come out.
~ String phone chargers or any small cords through the large loops and replace.
~ Clip onto your nightstand and never have to reach down for your chargers again!

I literally just put a clip on both my nightstand and my husbands. Happy Day. It's the little things.

Don't Miss Our DIY Tutorial Below!

Spotted Tutorial:: DIY Glitter Streamers!

Welcome to our first tutorial in a new series that we have just started! We are putting together step by step instructions for DIY party and wedding details. To kick things off, we will walk you through the very simple instructions to make your own fabulous glitter (or any other pattern) streamers. These would look amazing as a cake or dessert table backdrop too!

Supplies needed::

- 1 large hole punch (I used a 2" circle punch)
- Invisible fishing line (I used Seaguar's invisible fishing line ~ from Home Depot)
- Glitter paper or any preferred color/pattern card stock (I used card stock from Michael's)
- Super Glue (I prefer super glue because it dries quickly and holds heavy card stock well)

Once you have all your supplies together, punch several circle cut outs. You will need two cutouts to create one circle on your streamers, so punch out an even number.

Next, lay one cutout face down and hold the fishing wire in the center. Put a drop of glue in the middle and then dot the glue around the edges to make sure the pieces stay together. Take a second cutout and lay it on top of the cutout with the glue so that your streamers are two-sided and sparkle no matter what direction they twist.

And that's it! Easy and gorgeous. Make several strands of the same color or alternate colors on the same strand. Enjoy!

The Red Dress Ball

Thank you to the ladies of the Alpha Phi Sorority at UC Santa Barbara for selecting us to design their invitations to the Red Dress Ball! The Red Dress Ball is an annual charity event that benefits the Alpha Phi Foundation for Women's Cardiac Care and Scholarship. A great event and a great cause that we were honored to be a part of.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2012! Last year was full of memorable events for Spotted Ink, but this year is shaping up to be quite amazing. Let's kick things off right with a classic wedding invitation. Jill and Shaun are getting married later this month and we had a lot of fun working with them on their invitations and are just about to dive into their custom escort card display and programs. Their invitations feature a signature metallic pocket fold, three-layer invitation and three-layer logo seal. We primarily used a metallic ecru and then accented with layers of metallic plum and deep red to match their wedding colors. Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs. Sleeth!
