We're Back!

After taking some time off to have my second son, I am so pleased to be back at it with some new invitations and projects in the works! Our second son, Parker Edward, was born on September 20th and to announce his big arrival into the world, we created these precious announcements with quotes from the book On the Night You Were Born, by Nancy Tillman. It's one of my all-time favorite children's books. Nancy just has a magical way with words that really speak to the reader.

These announcements featured three pictures printed on premium card stock with a two-layer overlay. I put satin ribbon in between the layers to create a "holder" for the cards and a unique way to bring everything together. The adorable photography is by Ashley at Ashlynn Marie Photography.

In addition to invitations, I've also been working on a new blog that's close to my heart. It's called Parker and Ty and it is all about inspiring kids to read and be read to. Come check it out HERE for home library ideas, fabulous party inspiration, children's book reviews and more!

A Very Bubble Guppies Birthday!

UPDATE June 3, 2013

**GREAT NEWS** Bubble Guppie fans! We are now offering our set of printables used for this party FOR FREE!! All you have to do is visit the FB page for our new blog (HERE) and become a fan. Once you do, email us at hello@parkerandty.com and we will send you the digital file for your personal use! Parker and Ty is our new blog all about the wonderful world of children's books. Browse children's books before purchasing them, plan book-themed parties, find crafts and be inspired to build your own children's library.

Our sweet baby boy turned two on Saturday! To celebrate, we hosted a party that was sure to appeal to one of his current obsessions...The Bubble Guppies (or Bubbies as he likes to call them)! Bright colors, bubbly faces and some extra sugar helped make this day special and one of our favorite details definitely had to be the adorable fondant cupcake toppers from Sugared Up. It's not easy to recreate the detail in the cute little faces but Missy from Sugared Up did a fabulous job and they were show stoppers with all of the kids.

We custom designed all of the paper goods starting with the boxed invitations, all the way down to the gift tags on the sand buckets. To keep Tyler and all of his pint-sized friends occupied, we loaded the park with inflatable beach balls, crawl-through tunnels and goodie buckets for each kid that had a kite, play dough and bubbles. I especially love when we can give away treats that the kids can play with right away instead of having to wait until the end of the party to hand them out.

I put my baking skills to the test and made his cake myself using M and M's as the decorations and a #2 cake pan from Amazon. By the time he was ready to blow out the candles, the frosting was melting and the M and M's were falling off but it was still cute. For the applesauce, I purchased cute wooden spoons from Michael's and hand stamped them with Tyler's name. Tyler's Birthday is truly one of my favorite times of the year and I am already plotting my plan for next year because I'm crazy like that. With our second son due this fall, I'm going to have plenty of birthday parties to keep me busy in the late summer and early fall and I can't wait.

A Baby Shower for Two!

I can't even begin to express my excitement over the fact that my little sister is just weeks away from having twins! Soon she will be part of an instant family of four with one little boy and one little girl...what a perfect scenario. To celebrate the arrival of Hudson and Harper (could the names be any cuter?), we threw a baby shower fit for two that featured a dessert and tea bar. Pictures from the actual shower will be posted soon, but here's a look at the invitations.

We wanted to incorporate a custom logo we designed for the twins and two mini envelopes to complete the fun and sweet theme. Check back soon to see pictures from the party!

The Red Dress Ball

Thank you to the ladies of the Alpha Phi Sorority at UC Santa Barbara for selecting us to design their invitations to the Red Dress Ball! The Red Dress Ball is an annual charity event that benefits the Alpha Phi Foundation for Women's Cardiac Care and Scholarship. A great event and a great cause that we were honored to be a part of.

MARRIED:: Shannon & David

What a beautiful wedding! We had the privilege of working with Shannon and David on their wedding reception at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach. Shannon and David are such a lovely couple and are expecting a baby girl soon. So many reasons to celebrate!

Spotted Ink designed and created the custom wedding invitations, place cards, menus, table numbers and dance floor gobo. Congratulations to the couple and soon-to-be family of three!

The day was beautifully photographed by Connie M. Chung Photography.
