Our sweet baby boy turned two on Saturday! To celebrate, we hosted a party that was sure to appeal to one of his current obsessions...The Bubble Guppies (or Bubbies as he likes to call them)! Bright colors, bubbly faces and some extra sugar helped make this day special and one of our favorite details definitely had to be the adorable fondant cupcake toppers from Sugared Up. It's not easy to recreate the detail in the cute little faces but Missy from Sugared Up did a fabulous job and they were show stoppers with all of the kids.
We custom designed all of the paper goods starting with the boxed invitations, all the way down to the gift tags on the sand buckets. To keep Tyler and all of his pint-sized friends occupied, we loaded the park with inflatable beach balls, crawl-through tunnels and goodie buckets for each kid that had a kite, play dough and bubbles. I especially love when we can give away treats that the kids can play with right away instead of having to wait until the end of the party to hand them out.
I put my baking skills to the test and made his cake myself using M and M's as the decorations and a #2 cake pan from Amazon. By the time he was ready to blow out the candles, the frosting was melting and the M and M's were falling off but it was still cute. For the applesauce, I purchased cute wooden spoons from Michael's and hand stamped them with Tyler's name. Tyler's Birthday is truly one of my favorite times of the year and I am already plotting my plan for next year because I'm crazy like that. With our second son due this fall, I'm going to have plenty of birthday parties to keep me busy in the late summer and early fall and I can't wait.
